DESCRIPTION: French brass and beveled glass 8 days, time and strike, crystal regulator, S. Marti movement with visible escapement, c1900
CONDITION: similar to the push button repeat found on French carriage clocks, the feature is rarely seen on these larger mantel clocks and may be custom-made by a skilled craftsman. The lacquered brass case has a glossy patina with very small areas of tarnish. Two of the beveled glass panels have small chips at their top edges. The compensating pendulum is fine, the white porcelain dial has a few faint hairlines, the pallets are red jewels. The movement has the Medaille de Bronze stamp. Ht 10"
